Don't just ask for prices when looking for food service needs, look past the price to the individuals and how they operate. Do they cook out of their own house or a professional kitchen?
Do they use federally inspected meats and graded poultry or do they shop at local discount supermarkets for cheap meats with short date codes and lather them with high sodium sauces and seasonings?
Do they carry liability insurance? Ask to see their last health inspection!
Do they have the experience?
Many can make a nice plate of food... but can they put all the logistics together and serve 150 guests the same plate? Hot? And serve each individual by there first name?
